Yemeni writer and author Mohammed Abdulwahab Al-Shaibani announced, on Saturday, June 6, the launch of the independent digital platform (Imtedad), an individual initiative concerned with culture and society.
Al-Shaibani said that the idea came from the need for an open space for writing and discussion about cultural and social issues, following years in which this type of presence has diminished.
He added that the platform attempts to open more than one angle to read what is happening in Yemen, and to understand the transformations that society is undergoing, away from a single narrative.
In its first launch week, (Imtedad) publishes a collection of articles, literary texts, and documentary and journalistic materials, focusing on the details of daily life in the country. It is also concerned with culture, arts, and history, in addition to social and economic issues, with a clear focus on Yemeni affairs, and an openness to other experiences that help understand the picture more broadly.
Those in charge of the platform emphasized that it operates professionally, ensures accuracy, respects differing opinions, and rejects any content containing hatred or incitement.
